Web Gallery Wizard “Offers a Bit of Home” to Overseas Troops and Lets Civilians Experience What it’s Like to Serve by Enabling Families to Create Personal Photo Sites to Post Online

Bellevue, WA, June 5, 2006 – Thanks to the proliferation of digital photography and the Internet, military families have unprecedented access to each other’s lives – even while continents apart. But, staying connected to far-flung relatives and friends has its challenges. Just ask Staff Sergeant Dave Sivewright who recently returned from his tour of duty in Kuwait. Eager to share the digital photos he had taken during his 12-month deployment with a Personal Support Battalion serving troops in Iraq, he became frustrated by the lack of options for quickly and easily generating Web sites to present his story in images.

“Being able to share my experiences visually – where I lived, the friends I made, the people I served with during my time overseas, as well as what life is like in another country – really helped my family and friends connect with me in ways that words can’t,” said Staff Sergeant Sivewright who is now with the 90th Regional Readiness Command. “And, while serving overseas, having access to family photos is a life line; it offers a bit of home away from home.

“When I began looking for software to help me create my photo galleries, it was very difficult to find an application that was easy to use while providing me with the flexibility and results I wanted. Most of the products I found were too complicated for someone who didn’t have Flash and/or HTML experience. They were too expensive and the resulting galleries just weren’t eye catching. After some searching, I found the software I was looking for: Web Gallery Wizard, I emailed the manufacturer to let them know their product would be a great fit for those of us in the armed forces.”

“When Sergeant Sivewright contacted us about expanding our software offering to military families, we thought it was a great idea,” said Razvan Neagu, president and CEO of KOMOTION, Inc, the creator of Web Gallery Wizard software. “Our product is well-suited for military personnel on the go who have family and friends spread across the country and around the world. Web Gallery Wizard is easy to use – just point, click and post. In five minutes, anyone can showcase and share photos through a personal Web site. Our software is also easy to try. We offer a free trial download, a special “Support our Troops” downloadable theme, and a 20 percent military discount that can be requested via a feedback form.”
